The 2007-08 budget provides most state managers and supervisors with a 3.4 percent increase. There are some exceptions, such as those in Units 9 and 5, who are getting additional increases due to rank and file bargaining.

  

Legislators abandon evening vote after late issues stall plan. An emerging deal on the overdue state budget stalled in the back rooms of the Capitol on Monday night, apparently over a handful of unresolved issues, including a proposal to give more money to suburban school districts.

  

ATTENTION: Employees who work at CDCR, DDS, DMH, DVA or DHS.  ACSS is gathering information in an attempt to bring to the court's attention the effects of the Plata v. Schwarzenegger decision on CDCR and other state agencies with health care classifications.

  

In a summer when California legislators seem lost, at least one clearly knows where he's going.

Amid budget nonsense, he has shown common sense.

  

Not so much - yet

But even those groups most often cited as being victims of that circumstance - state employees, vendors with state contracts, agencies that rely on state funding - typically find ways to ease the pain.
