Health care costs. They’re going up for everybody: providers, employers and insured employees. But which group is shouldering the greatest percentage of increases?

If the CalPERS Health Benefits Committee had accepted its staff recommendations today, April 17, ACSS members and other CalPERS members would be paying a lot more money for office visits, emergency room visits, prescriptions and premiums, as well other increased out-of-pocket expenses, beginning Jan. 1, 2008.

  

Former California Govs. Gray Davis, Pete Wilson and George Deukmejian gave notice Monday that they would like to file a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of their successor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, in his plan to transfer thousands of prison inmates out of state.
