Leg Analyst says governor needs to pay attention ANNUALLY to managers and supervisors salaries

The state's independent Legislative Analyst Office, headed for over two decades by Elizabeth Hill, just released its analysis of the governor's proposed 2007-08 budget. One section of this analysis, titled "Legislative Oversight of State Employee Compensation," reviews the historical and current processes the state uses for setting compensation levels for all state employees.

If you've ever wondered why and how the state can allow the salaries of its management team to become so compacted and so behind pay for similar employees in other government bodies or the private sector, you will find this analysis a fascinating read. ACSS members can be assured that their organization is reviewing this report very, very carefully.

After you've read this, if you would like to share your opinion with ACSS, e-mail your thoughts to acss@calcsea.org.
