Retroactive Pay Increases Follow Months of Intense Effort by ACSS

After many discussions between ACSS and DPA in meet and confers and behind closed doors, ACSS is happy to announce that the Unit 18 supervisor (S18) and manager (M18) classifications will receive the Coleman Equity increase resulting in a salary rate equal to 5 percent less than the CDCR salary rates for those classes. These increases are retroactive to April 1, 2007.

The S18 classes include Unit Supervisor (8230), Unit Supervisor-Safety (8104), Program Assistant, Developmental Disabilities Program (8266), Program Assistant (Mental Disabilities-Safety) (8102), and Program Assistant (Developmental Disabilities-Safety) (8251). The M18 classes are Program Director, Developmental Disabilities Programs (8268), Program Director, Developmental Disabilities-Safety (8262), and Program Director, Mental Disabilities-Safety (8103).

These classes also received the 3.4 percent GSI documented in Pay Letter 07-35. DPA reports that the Coleman Equity increase will be included in a Pay Letter that will be released once the legislative process is complete.

ACSS has been relentless in its efforts to secure these raises -- and others -- for our members. We are continuing to work with DPA and this administration for fair and equitable salaries for ALL managers, supervisors and confidentials in state service.
