As you may have seen in the Sac Bee yesterday, an initiative that would prohibit ACSS from using automatic payroll deductions for political spending was cleared by the office of the Secretary of State to appear on the November ballot.

If this measure passes, it will greatly reduce the ability of supervisors, managers, and confidential employees to protect their careers and rights.

It is becoming increasingly clear that 2012 will be a crucial year for ACSS members to make their voices heard. Please keep this in mind as you begin recruiting co-workers and fellow ACSS members for our upcoming Lobby Day.

Now more than ever we need a strong turnout of excluded employees at the Capitol. Start talking with co-workers, chapter members, family, and friends now about why they should get involved, and talk with them often.
