DPA Director Ron Yank distributed an official memo today inviting other supervisory organizations to join the California Supervisors & Managers Advisory Council, a “new organization being formed to advocate for the interests of our State’s excluded employees.”
As outlined by ACSS Executive Director Rocco R. Paternoster at last month’s fourth quarter board meeting, ACSS President Arlene Espinoza worked for more than five months with the Excluded Employee Workgroup—consisting of your ACSS, DPA Director Yank, and Assemblymember Joan Buchanan—to establish this council; just one of several key victories for state supervisors, managers, and confidential employees that arose from that workgroup.
Since taking office, DPA Director Yank has stated that he is committed to working with ACSS and the council to improve the careers of all excluded employees in state service.
Your ACSS will continue to keep you informed as this important step in maintaining your rights moves forward.
