Governor Jerry Brown will unveil his pension plan—held under tight wraps by his office—on Thursday, October 27th. According to The State Worker, labor organizations have committed to working with Brown on anti-spiking measures.

Your ACSS will not support the end of defined-benefit pensions.

Some groups are concerned with Brown’s statement that his pension plan will require a public vote and possible constitutional amendments. Californians for Retirement Security Chairman Dave Low outlined CRS’ position in a recent Sacramento Bee op-ed.

“We must look for solutions that restore retirement security to all Californians. Nearly half of California workers will face hardship in retirement, living on incomes that are less than double the federal poverty threshold.”
