State Controller John Chiang announced today that he was immediately suspending pay for the state's lawmakers in accordance with Proposition 25.
The Controller stated that his analysis of the budget submitted last Wednesday showed it to be insufficient and imbalanced.
The official analysis highlights a nearly $2 billion revenue shortfall in the budget proposal, which was vetoed by Governor Jerry Brown less than 24 hours after submission.
