Attorney General Jerry Brown, whom ACSS endorsed and who had more money spent against him than any other non-presidential candidate ever, has routed Meg Whitman in the governor's race. The secretary of state's semi-official results gave Brown nearly 54 percent to Whitman's 42. Gavin Newsom will be the new lieutenant governor. Barbara Boxer retained her Democratic Senate seat. The race for attorney general is still too close to call. Check the secretary of state's website for all vote totals. Read also an analysis of how Meg blew her big chance.
