The Supreme Court ruled this month that the entire burden of proving an age-discrimination charge must rest with the plaintiff. In other discrimation claims, and previously in age-discrimination claims, once the plaintiff proves discrimination occurred the employer must prove it had a legitimate reason for the decision.
